Sophia Segura, Esq. is a Spanish speaking immigration attorney with a deep-rooted passion for immigration law. Ms. Segura grew up in central Mexico until she migrated to the United States at the age of 12. Ms. Segura earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Loyola Marymount University and practiced water resources engineering with a private design firm for five years from which she gained invaluable experience in problem solving and producing creative innovative solutions.
Ms. Segura obtained her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School in 2015. During her time in law school, Ms. Segura was a Lead Article Editor of the Southwestern Journal of International Law, made the Dean’s List, was an active board member of the Latino Law Student Association, and was a recipient of the Mexican American Bar Foundation Scholarship and Bar Stipend. Ms. Segura also gained valuable experience doing two full time externships; one with the United States District Court, Central District of California, and a second with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Ms. Segura participated in a semester study abroad program in Buenos Aires, Argentina. For three years during law school, Ms. Segura worked part time as an immigration law clerk specializing in appellate briefs, asylum, cancellation of removal, waivers, and consular processing.
Ms. Segura is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Immigration Law Section, and the Mexican American Bar Association.
In her time off, Ms. Segura enjoys spending time with her family and cocker spaniel puppy.
